Job Summary:

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing routine and specialized breast imaging procedures, including biopsies and needle localizations, to produce high-quality images supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment. The role requires working independently with clinical expertise to deliver safe, timely, and precise results while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and advanced mammography exams, including biopsies and needle localizations, adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
• Assess patients effectively, gain cooperation, and communicate clearly to ensure a positive imaging experience.
• Operate imaging equipment competently, providing accurate results within established timeframes.
• Maintain strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including privacy standards.
• Educate and orient other staff members on department procedures as needed.
• Document all procedures accurately in the electronic health record, ensuring detailed and compliant charting.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid State Mammography License; ARRT certification is not required if licensing is current.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of mammography experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in performing routine and specialized breast procedures.
• Maintain current certifications in AHA or American Red Cross CPR, with certifications available at submission.
• Ability to work Mon-Fri primarily, with occasional Saturday shifts.
• Be available for lab work and verification documentation within specified timelines.
