School Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
TactStaff EDU is seeking a dedicated and skilled School Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in developing the skills needed for success in the classroom and school environment. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement therapy plans that address students’ fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities.

The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and adaptable, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams. Keen observational skills and attention to detail are essential for accurately supporting therapy goals and tracking student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing individualized occupational therapy plans under the direction of a licensed OT
• Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
• Modify classroom tools, materials, and activities to promote participation and independence
• Observe and document student progress and communicate updates to the supervising OT
• Support therapy delivery in both pull-out and classroom settings
   

• Active New Mexico Board Certification as a COTA
• Willingness to obtain NMPED credential (district support provided upon hire)
