Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to insure quality diagnostic CT images.
Performs CT procedures to include: abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies, etc.
Explains in layman’s terms the administration of IV contrast,and completes the IV Contrast Information Sheet with information provided by the patient, family member or health care proxy.
Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physicians order following the prescribed protocol.
Utilizes special devices (i.e. bromide shield) to reduce exposure to ionizing radiation of radiosensitive areas (i.e. breast, thyroid, etc.).
Adjusts CT equipment to capture appropriate field of view and transmits cases to on-call Radiologist through use of Tele-Radiology system, as well as administers intravenous (IV) and oral contrast agents as per Radiologist order and performs venipuncture of the appropriate gauge necessary for examination.
Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
Receives radiopharmaceutical on day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verifies activity level of the dose prior to administration.

Job Qualification
Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
Current License to practice as a Radiologist
Current ARRT Radiology registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
