Job Summary:
The IR/Special Procedure Technologist performs advanced interventional and special radiographic procedures, supporting diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. The role requires technical expertise, safety awareness, and flexibility to accommodate rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.

Responsibilities:

• Execute interventional and special radiographic procedures utilizing applicable diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, and infection control policies.
• Adhere to patient safety protocols during all procedures to ensure optimal care and safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate procedures and patient care.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation and records of procedures performed and safety measures observed.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Radiography Registry R.T. (R) credential by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Possess at least two years of experience in interventional radiography or specialized procedures.
• Hold or be eligible for Cardiac or Vascular Interventional registry certification by ARRT, with intent to obtain within six months of employment.
• Maintain a Connecticut State license to practice radiography.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
