Job Summary:
An experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse is needed to provide quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. This position involves caring for post-operative patients, managing drains, and performing wound care on a 36-bed unit.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care, including wound management and drain care.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (Meditech).
• Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge procedures.
• Adhere to safety protocols and hospital policies to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years' experience in medical-surgical nursing.
• Demonstrate proficiency with post-operative care, including dressing changes and drain management.
• Possess BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Show capability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Exhibit strong patient advocacy and communication skills.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically Meditech, is a plus.
