Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients on a 27-bed General Medicine Unit, managing a variety of disease processes involving respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune/infectious, and renal systems. Supervises patient care delivery during night shifts, adhering to hospital policies and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans.
• Monitor patient status, alerting providers to changes and managing clinical priorities.
• Ensure documentation within Epic accurately reflects patient conditions and care provided.
• Comply with facility policies regarding float requirements, travel restrictions, and licensing procedures.
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and certifications.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid VA license or pending license with verification; license must be in hand by the start date.
• Demonstrate experience with Epic electronic health record systems.
• Possess current BLS certification; ACLS preferred but not required.
• Be able to adapt to float policies within scope of practice and work night shift hours (4x12-hour shifts).
• Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills with team members and patients.
• Have a minimum of 1-year recent nursing experience in a medical-surgical or telehealth setting.
