Job Summary: The Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations, ensuring compliance with ACR standards. This role supports breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, and other radiologic procedures within the Breast Center to provide accurate imaging.

Responsibilities:

• Execute mammography and related procedures with precision, following safety and technical protocols.
• Assist with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, localization, and guided procedures, including setup and cleanup.
• Ensure proper patient immobilization, select appropriate technical factors, and operate imaging equipment effectively.
• Identify and correctly label patient films, maintaining accurate documentation of procedures and images.
• Participate in quality control activities, including phantom imaging, equipment testing, and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Support patient education efforts, including breast cancer screening and biopsy pre/post instructions.
• Prepare cases for imaging, ensuring all clinical documentation and images are properly recorded and reviewed.
• Track and compile data related to patient follow-ups, localizations, biopsies, and ultrasound examinations.
• Document procedures and quality assurance activities following ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, adapting care to meet individual needs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of licensed Mammography Technologist experience; 3 years preferred.
• Certified by ARRT in Mammography and licensed in Diagnostic Radiology by the state.
• Proven competency in stereotactic breast biopsy and bone density imaging is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Active CPR or BLS certification required.
• Ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
