Job Summary:
The Billing Specialist is responsible for reviewing and correcting accounts, processing both paper and electronic claims, and ensuring accurate submission to payers. They will also handle payments, update patient records, and support patient financial services operations to facilitate seamless revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities:

• Review and correct account information, claims, and denials to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare, submit, and follow up on paper and electronic claims to insurance payers in a timely manner.
• Post all types of payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts accurately.
• Document patient interactions, billing activities, and correspondence clearly within the system.
• Generate aging reports, follow up on past due accounts, and arrange payment schedules with patients.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing discrepancies and escalate issues as needed.

Qualifications:

• Require a high school diploma or equivalent; college education or relevant experience preferred.
• Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related revenue cycle role.
• Strong proficiency in billing systems, claim processing, and insurance terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to process claims efficiently and resolve rejections or denials promptly.
• Knowledge of medical billing regulations and compliance standards.
