Job Description
Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to provide exceptional patient care during both low and high-risk pregnancies. The nurse will be responsible for managing clinical reviews, supporting patient safety, and ensuring quality outcomes in a fast-paced maternity setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor obstetric patients to identify evolving clinical needs and respond efficiently.
- Provide comprehensive bedside care, including fetal monitoring, labor support, and postpartum assistance.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Cross-train to Mother/Baby units and float to NICU as needed, maintaining flexibility in assignments.
- Maintain compliance with certifications, licenses, and facility policies, including documentation of all required credentials.
- Educate patients and families on labor processes, discharge instructions, and postpartum care.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license, with pending licenses accepted if in hand by Wednesday before start.
- Valid BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications; AWHONN intermediate preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience in Labor and Delivery or related obstetric settings.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-risk pregnancies and complex clinical situations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills essential for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of hospital policies related to floating, mileage restrictions, and work hours.
