Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department oversees the daily operations, staffing, and quality of patient care within the department. This leadership role ensures efficient workflow, staff development, and compliance with clinical standards to provide exceptional emergency services.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
• Monitor department performance metrics, including costs, staffing turnover, and patient satisfaction.
• Oversee daily workflows, including staff orientation, training, and development activities.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental performance.
• Promote a collaborative team environment, fostering respect among staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Investigate patient, staff, and physician concerns, facilitating prompt resolutions.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in New York State.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of management or supervisory experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Proficient in clinical standards, patient safety, and quality improvement processes.
