Job Summary:

Provide high-quality patient care in a stepdown unit within a hospital setting, managing complex cases and monitoring patient status closely to prevent deterioration. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing services.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans based on clinical needs.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
• Recognize and respond to abnormal cardiac rhythms and other critical changes in patient status.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed medical records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure smooth patient transitions.
• Comply with all certification, licensing, and hospital policy requirements, including ongoing assessments and certifications.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Ohio license or a valid Compact State license to practice nursing.
• Possess at least 18 months of recent permanent experience in a stepdown or intermediate care unit.
• Have current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, with nothing pending.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ECG rhythm recognition and medication safeties.
• Be able to pass a rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessments during orientation.
• Travel experience within the specialty accepted; experience in a similar unit preferred.
