Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (IMC/PCU/Stepdown) provides progressive and stepdown level patient care by monitoring vital signs, assessing clinical status, and intervening promptly to support safe outcomes. This role supports a consistent patient population and may require flexibility to float within comparable units.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients using telemetry/ECG and recognize rhythm changes requiring immediate action.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, document findings accurately, and escalate concerns to the care team.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with established protocols, including medication safety checks.
• Provide coordinated care for IMC/PCU/stepdown patients based on acuity and unit standards.
• Implement evidence-based nursing interventions and follow unit safety/quality initiatives.
• Participate in onboarding education, completing required assessments during orientation.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active permanent Ohio RN license in hand at submission; accept compact licensure per program start rules.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification with nothing pending.
• Demonstrate 18 months of recent Stepdown experience (travel experience may satisfy this requirement).
• Demonstrate 18 months combined permanent experience in the specialty applying for.
• Prove proficiency with ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety requirements; pass required orientation assessments.
• Provide two eligible references from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director from assignments worked within the past 12 months.
