Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Cath Lab/EP provides comprehensive patient care tailored to cardiac procedures, ensuring safety, accuracy, and professionalism throughout all stages of patient evaluation and treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough assessments of patients from Pediatric to Geriatric populations, ensuring accurate documentation and understanding of their medical histories.
• Deliver competent clinical care supporting cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures, demonstrating proficiency with emergency equipment and protocols.
• Document all patient interactions, assessments, and education thoroughly and accurately, following established guidelines.
• Uphold professional standards by following policies, identifying growth opportunities, and maintaining accountability in patient care delivery.
• Respond promptly and courteously to patients and families, fostering an environment of trust, confidentiality, and patient-centered care.
• Adhere to safety protocols including universal precautions, patient identification, and proper transfer techniques, minimizing risk and ensuring safety.
• Apply knowledge of cardiac procedure-specific equipment, conditions, and anesthesia, customizing care plans according to individual patient needs and responses.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient care actions, assuming responsibility and accountability for clinical decisions and outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about pre- and post-procedure care, verifying understanding and ensuring proper preparation and recovery.
• Support timely completion of pre-admission testing, reviewing orders for completeness and appropriateness based on planned procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license required; graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience necessary.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Demonstrated assessment, clinical, documentation, and patient education skills.
• Knowledge of cardiac catheterization, EP procedures, and related equipment preferred.
