Job Summary:

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical conditions across the recovery, acute, and post-operative phases. The RN delivers safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions thoroughly and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures accurately according to provider orders and policies.
• Monitor patient responses, recognizing changes requiring escalation or intervention.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses precisely in electronic health records.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services.

Qualifications:

• Hold an associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Possess an active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska.
• Demonstrate current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Have at least 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical-surgical setting preferred.
• Exhibit strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
