Job Description

Job Summary:
Providing culturally relevant outpatient behavioral health services for individuals experiencing behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges. The role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based individual, group, and family therapies to support client recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement trauma-informed and culturally sensitive screening, assessment, and diagnosis to guide treatment strategies.
  • Develop and review individualized treatment plans based on client needs, incorporating mental health and substance use disorder interventions.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies such as individual, group, and family counseling to promote coping skills and symptom management.
  • Provide crisis intervention services during clinic hours and shared rotating after-hours emergency support in rural locations.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team members and community agencies to ensure comprehensive, client-centered services.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation within the electronic health record system as per organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Be licensed or licensure-eligible as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Counselor (LPC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Demonstrate experience with behavioral health assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning across all age groups.
  • Possess knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods, assessment criteria, and legal confidentiality standards such as HIPAA.
  • Ability to assess suicide/self-harm risk, develop safety plans, and advocate for patient needs in crisis situations.
  • Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License or ability to obtain within six months of hire; preferred certifications include Alaska State Chemical Dependency Counselor I or MAC.
