Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides specialized occupational therapy services to patients to help them develop, regain, or maintain daily functional skills. Designs personalized treatment plans and collaborates with healthcare professionals to promote optimal recovery and independence.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient needs through evaluations and test results to develop effective treatment plans in consultation with physicians or based on prescriptions.
- Implement therapeutic programs involving manual arts, functional activities, vocational training, and sensorimotor exercises to improve physical and mental functioning.
- Supervise and direct aides, technicians, and assistants to ensure quality care delivery and proper execution of therapy interventions.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, assistive devices, and outpatient follow-up to support ongoing recovery.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed and preparing comprehensive discharge summaries.
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection-control, and legal standards, maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Occupational Therapy License issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
- Hold a current registration credential with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
- Maintain BLS certification and stay current through ongoing professional education and training.
- Have previous experience in occupational therapy preferred, with strong understanding of behavioral assessments and patient-centered care.
