Job Summary:

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports patient rehabilitation under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, providing hands-on therapy and modalities to promote recovery. This role involves managing a patient caseload efficiently within a structured outpatient or acute care environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing treatment plans outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Evaluate and document patient progress, noting the effects of each intervention.
• Operate and ensure the safe use of physical therapy modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and diathermy.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and organized patient records in compliance with department standards.
• Promote patient safety and ensure a clean, organized therapy environment.
• Collaborate effectively with staff, patients, and families to optimize care and educational needs.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an APTA-approved Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
• Licensed by the State of California to provide PTA services.
• Demonstrate proficiency in physical therapy procedures, modalities, and patient assessment.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Preferred experience in acute care, skilled nursing, or outpatient settings.
