Job Summary:
Provides specialized critical care nursing services to patients in the CVICU, assessing their physiological, emotional, and spiritual needs. Oversees and executes nursing care plans, leading subordinate staff to ensure quality treatment and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' vital signs and clinical status to develop individualized care plans.
• Lead and supervise nursing staff in delivering comprehensive care in the CVICU setting.
• Conduct patient evaluations, document progress, and coordinate treatment and discharge planning.
• Maintain compliance with certification and licensure requirements, updating vaccination and skill documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of current CVICU experience with open-heart surgery.
• Active Illinois nursing license and current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Strong proficiency with Cerner electronic health record systems.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising nursing personnel.
• Additional experience in thoracic, vascular, or interventional units preferred.
• COVID and flu vaccinations required; declinations are not permitted.
