Job Description
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Sonographer specializing in Echocardiography and general ultrasound procedures to join our team on a third-shift schedule. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in pediatric emergent cases, transplant imaging, and obstetric ultrasounds, providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services.
Responsibilities:
- Operate GE ultrasound equipment, including GE E10, Fortis, and S8 portable units, to perform cardiac, obstetric, and pediatric ultrasounds.
- Conduct neonatal head ultrasounds, breast ultrasounds, and limited obstetric exams, including first-trimester assessments and ovarian torsion/ectopic checks.
- Maintain adherence to safety and infection control protocols, including high-level disinfection procedures with Trophon 2.
- Document findings thoroughly in EPIC and Phillips VUE PA systems, ensuring accurate patient diagnosis and procedure records.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to support specialty procedures, including paracentesis and TIPS imaging when necessary.
- Verify and document required certifications such as ARDMS and BLS prior to start.
Qualifications:
- Possess ARDMS certification with experience in pediatric, transplant, and obstetric ultrasound imaging.
- Demonstrate at least one year of recent experience performing pediatric emergent, transplant, and obstetric ultrasounds.
- Hold current BLS certification and be licensed or registered as a Sonographer.
- Experience using EPIC EMR system for accurate documentation and reporting.
- Able to work night shift hours, with flexibility to float within Prisma Health facilities as needed.
- Must be within the required travel distance or meet travel compliance standards.
