Job Summary:

A registered nurse specializing in telemetry care is needed to monitor and manage cardiac patients in a fast-paced unit. The role involves interpreting EKG strips, administering set-rate drips, and providing comprehensive patient care in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and document patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms accurately.
• Read and interpret EKG strips, including recognizing arrhythmias and other cardiac abnormalities.
• Administer and titrate set-rate medications such as Cardizem and Amiodarone, adhering to established protocols.
• Perform patient care tasks including EKGs, bladder scans, FSBS, and ADLs.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and other staff to ensure safe patient outcomes.
• Support patient respiratory needs with Bipap and Cpap; recognize when transfer to higher acuity units is necessary.

Qualifications:

• Valid and unexpired driver's license required for submittals.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with set-rate cardiac drips, reading EKG strips, and interpreting telemetry monitors.
• Knowledge of common diagnoses including post-cath, COPD, CHF, arrhythmias, and pacers.
• Ability to work independently and follow protocols precisely.
