Job Description
Job Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using nuclear medicine techniques to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. The role requires operating specialized equipment and ensuring patient safety throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients in accordance with safety protocols.
- Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment such as GE SPECT systems.
- Ensure accurate positioning and proper imaging techniques to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Maintain detailed patient records and document procedures using EPIC charting software.
- Follow all safety and regulatory guidelines for handling radioactive materials.
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret imaging results and assist in clinical decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Credentialed as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with ARRT certification.
- Hold an active NJ State License or equivalent Compact License.
- At least 2 years of experience in adult outpatient nuclear cardiology and nuclear medicine imaging.
- Knowledge of cardiac, thyroid, bone scans, gastric emptying, liver imaging, and SPECT imaging.
- BLS certification required at time of submission.
