Job Description
Job Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Dietitian with at least two years of experience to provide comprehensive nutritional care in a hospital setting. This role requires versatility in managing a wide range of clinical conditions and collaborating effectively with medical teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients’ nutritional status through assessments and NFPE examinations.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans for diverse clinical conditions, including acute MI, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, and post-operative needs.
- Administer and monitor various forms of enteral and parenteral nutrition, ensuring appropriate dosing and safety.
- Educate patients and staff on dietary management, food-drug interactions, and therapeutic diets.
- Manage hydration, fluid balance, and electrolyte requirements, adjusting plans based on clinical progress.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including aspiration safety and fluid management, during nutritional therapy.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current RD or RDN credential registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Possess a minimum of two years of inpatient clinical nutrition experience, especially in short-term acute care.
- Certified in BLS, with California licensure in hand prior to submission.
- Demonstrate proficiency in managing complex medical conditions such as cirrhosis, dialysis, and malabsorption syndromes.
- Show ability to perform nutrition focused physical exams and manage nutrition complications effectively.
