Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department oversees 24-hour clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective departmental management. This role involves leading nursing staff, monitoring performance metrics, and fostering collaboration among healthcare team members.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement staffing plans ensuring adequate coverage and optimal resource utilization.
• Monitor departmental performance metrics, including workflow, patient satisfaction, and operational costs.
• Supervise daily workflow, staff orientation, training, and performance evaluations within the emergency department.
• Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
• Investigate patient, physician, and staff concerns, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and relevant accreditation requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of five (5) years of nursing management or supervisory experience in an Emergency Department.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Possess a Master’s Degree in Nursing and current RN licensure in New York State.
• Maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; TNCC preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and handle complex situations professionally.
