Job Summary:
The CVOR RN is responsible for providing specialized perioperative care to cardiac surgery patients in a surgical environment. This role requires delivering efficient and safe care during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases within a busy cardiovascular operating room.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care to cardiac surgery patients.
• Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia levels during procedures to ensure stability.
• Prepare the OR with appropriate equipment and ensure adherence to sterile techniques.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to support patient safety and positive outcomes.
• Document patient care activities accurately within the electronic medical records system.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including code situations and adverse events.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of 1 year of recent CVOR nursing experience.
• Hold a graduate degree from an accredited nursing program and an active New York State RN license.
• Demonstrate current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
• Possess strong knowledge of adult cardiac diagnoses and surgical procedures.
• Be proficient in clinical technology systems such as EPIC and Omnicell.
• Be willing to float to other units if patient census varies.
