Job Description
Job Summary:
Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in inpatient oncology settings. The role involves providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing chemotherapy, biotherapy, and bone marrow transplants within a fast-paced infusion and outpatient clinic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage chemotherapy, biotherapy, and investigational protocols with precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Perform blood product transfusions, port draws, phlebotomy, and central line access/maintainance.
- Conduct bone marrow biopsies and aspirations with minimal analgesia, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Monitor and manage toxicities and complications related to chemotherapy/biotherapy, including neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, and electrolyte imbalances.
- Educate patients on procedures, toxicity management, and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to deliver optimal patient care and ensure adherence to protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of inpatient oncology nursing experience.
- Current VA or compact state RN license.
- EPIC charting experience required.
- BSN degree preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rotating units such as infusion, lab, clinic, and bone marrow biopsy suite.
- Strong knowledge of chemotherapy, biotherapy, and central line management.
