Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive, individualized nursing care to patients in the OB unit, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-operative gynecology care. Demonstrates clinical expertise, critical thinking, and teaching skills to support optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and plan patient care utilizing the nursing process under the supervision of the charge nurse.
• Perform and evaluate clinical skills specific to OB/GYN, ensuring adherence to standards of practice.
• Educate patients and their families regarding care plans, procedures, and health education.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
• Ensure confidentiality, privacy, and support hospital policies related to patient rights and safety.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience as an RN.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Successfully complete hospital-specific orientation and clinical training.
• Hold current BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation, and STABLE certifications.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Maintain valid computer skills relevant to electronic health records.
