School Occupational Therapist (OT)
TACT Staff is seeking a skilled and compassionate School Occupational Therapist to join our team! In this role, you will support students in developing fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, self-care skills, and functional independence needed for academic participation and daily school activities. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, collaboration skills, and a student-centered approach to therapy planning and intervention.
This position is ideal for clinicians who enjoy working in school settings and partnering with multidisciplinary teams to help students reach their highest level of independence and participation in the educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to determine eligibility for services
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success
- Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, and progress reviews
- Maintain accurate therapy documentation and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Provide consultation and training to school staff and families regarding student support strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed
- Support adaptive equipment and assistive technology implementation when appropriate
Requirements (Michigan)
- Active Michigan Occupational Therapist License issued by the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapists
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
